GRAND TYPEWRITER gramophone needle tin.  This would have almost been new technology in its day.  This brand image is identical to the famous Piano brand except the piano has been replaced with a typewriter.   The same lady is on both.  The square tins of this size and shape had some of Japans most attractive designs on them and this is no exception.  There are two versions of this tin, one 'Grand' and one 'K.W.G.'.   Both hard to come by, especially in this condition.
