Large SANPHONY Gramophone Needle Tin

This is a large SANPHONY gramophone needle tin from Japan.  It is the only one of these tins I have seen and is not in any of the known references.  I suspect this tin had 500 or 1000 loose needles in it when sold.  There is a scratch to the top which extends from below the needle shown in the image into the centre of the record.  Otherwise the tin is in good condition.  

This tin measures about 10 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm thick.
