Just purrrrrrr..fect!

Dogs of all types have always been a popular theme for gramophone needle tin designers and artists but the same can't be said about cats. Cats were very popular in advertising in the late 1800's but for some reason their popularity obviously declined into the early 1900's. There are very few needle tins which feature cats and below are the only three we have been able to find. The Ongaku (meaning music) was most likely made for the Japanese domestic market and is not only the rarest but our clear favourite. Its an interesting artistic interpretation of the world famous His Masters Voice logo where a dog known as Nipper is pictured listening to a gramophone player.
